The Bitburg High School Alumni Association 63-70 will be holding their eighth reunion over the second weekend in June 2006 at the Unicoi Lodge in Helen, Georgia. This reunion site is in keeping with the Association’s policy of holding reunions every three years in different regions of the U.S. thus allowing reunion returnees to visit another area of the country and for the alumni in the region to have a chance to attend a Bitburg HS reunion.

The Unicoi Lodge offers a unique setting for this reunion, located in the Appalachian Mountains in North Georgia. The Unicoi State Park is a different world where people can get away from it all and experience first hand the beauties and wonders of nature. Facilities in the park include a Conference Center and Lodge, which will contain the reunion activities, cottages, campsites, and two beaches on a cool 53-acre mountain lake. Park activities include hiking (12 miles of trails), Mountain Biking, Fishing for accessible docks, swimming and canoe and pedal boat rental.

Near the park is the Alpine village of Helen, Georgia, the most popular tourist destination in the North Georgia Mountains situated on the Chattahoochee River. Because of its location in the mountains, the climate is generally cooler in the summer than Atlanta, which is just 90 miles to the south.
