Gerry LAGISH Hilliard ‘68

According to Gerry, beautiful sunny California has had more rain this year than Seattle.  Fortunately, her family does not live in one of the “mansions” that are sliding down the hill in Anaheim Hills.  All they had to contend with was an overflowing pool and a leaky, 30 year old roof, but both are holding up well.

Gerry tells us that when she took over the treasurer’s responsibilities she didn’t realize how much fun it would be.  We figured someone with her experience – 25 years in the banking industry - qualified her to make our deposits.  Gerry says “The money and your kind comments are greatly appreciated”, and we greatly appreciate all the time she has given this organization for more than 10 years.

Gerry found us soon after our 1987 Vail Reunion.  After the reunion, Jim Leeg, husband of Marsha LANDGRAF Leeg ’63, walked into a Wells Fargo Bank in Southern California, wearing one of our reunion t-shirts.  Gerry spotted him in the teller line and all but tackled him.  She asked where he had gotten the t-shirt, and the rest is history.  Sometime after that Gerry and her husband, Frank, put in an appearance at one of the California mini reunions that I attended.  Someone asked

me who the lady in the green shorts was, and my response was “It looks like Gerry Lagish, but she hasn’t been found yet.”  I had not seen Gerry since 1965 and had not heard that she had been found.  Just goes to show how little this lady has changed!

Gerry and Frank have attended all of the reunions since 1991, and she can usually be found at the registration desk, meeting and greeting attendees and taking their money.  She likes working the registration desk because it gives her an opportunity to “see and talk to almost everyone that attends.”  Gerry, like the rest of us, hopes that those of you that have never attended a reunion will join us in 2006.  She tells us that “Even if you were/are a wall flower” like her she guarantees you will have a good time.

Gerry loves making trips to the bank, so please be sure to send your $25 contribution, payable to Bitburg Alumni Association, to her NEW address:
