From Sharon Boyette '67—May/2004

Best buds for about a half-century or so, Sharon Bailey (’67), Christine Gardener (aka Tina Hintermeier) (’67), Suzi Rea (’68) and Robin Robinson (’67) traveled to Pensacola Florida to hang out with Linda Dolen (’66) early this April.   Linda, as the leader of this particular pack, secured a luxurious seventeenth floor penthouse on the beach for the weekend.

The Bitburg Belles interrupted long conversations with fine dining and strolling on sugar white sand beaches.  One evening they reminisced with Suzanne Kasler (’68), who was working on a project in the vicinity and her younger brother, Jim, who lives and works in Pensacola.

Best Buds

The highlight of the trip was carousing at the Florabama, one of Linda’s favorite haunts with live music and real Crackers.  The Florabama straddles the state line between Florida and the other L.A. (lower Alabama).

The Belles usually communicate by email -- swapping political opinions and personal news.  They say they are each other’s best cheerleaders.   The very verbal group was home for only about a week before cyberspace was sizzling with plans for next summer’s get-together which will include Linda’s sister, Sandra, and Ramstein pal, Dixie Layne.
