Rick Bartz '70 was unable to make the San Diego reunion as planned, but did announce that he and Jackie got married in April 2003, ending his "confirmed bachelor" days. Congrats Rick & Jackie!! He had intended to make the announcement at the reunion, but work had other demands.  Not to be outdone by Rick, Naomi Ouellette and Frank Demolli got married on August 16, 2003 and are happily residing just north of Santa Fe, NM.  Who's next??

I am spearheading efforts to get a 2004 mini-reunion set up for October near our old stomping grounds!  We are looking at October 12-17.  I was in Ramstein for 2 weeks the first part of February 2004 and presented Dr. Dietsch of Bitburger Pils, with the surfboard from the San Diego reunion. I also asked for his advice and help regarding the reunion.

I would appreciate hearing from interested alumni as soon as possible so that we can start finalizing plans for the trip.

Please contact me via e-mail, telephone or message board at our website.

It has been a great pleasure serving as the Alumni Association Chairperson for the past two reunions. Many thanks to the past Reunion Coordinators, Officers and Board members who have provided the infrastructure (not to mention time and sweat) to make our reunions possible. But most of all I'd like to encourage everyone to get involved! And lastly, thank you for the Bitburger Pils  patio umbrella. Every time it goes up, I think of you all.

For the reunion, we had 2 surf boards made for Bitburger Pils with their logo on them as a tribute to their continued sponsorship of our organization.  One will be taken to Bitburg by Larry Runge and presented to Dr. Dietsch, and the other will be presented to their US marketing representative who arranges the beer deliveries, etc.

I received a letter from Phil Graf who taught history. As my teacher my junior year he opened up the world for many of us in a unique way. There is a picture in the '65 yearbook capturing him in his favorite teaching position sitting on a table against the blackboard. He would just start talking and we would be mesmerized as he made history come alive...
